Register | Basaltes, Caille, Ereba

A mining community and settlement.

Various stones are unearthed from quarries and lines dug into the nearby mountain itself.

Minerals include copper, silver, gold, nickel, aluminum, lead, calcium, sodium, zinc, cadmium, chromium and various common to semiprecious stones.

Rail paths are present further toward the mountain. Several carts are moved along the lines, and typically left near or in the tunnels to avoid rain rust.

Rows of cottages exist, the further off buildings reserved for workers. Others are used for smelting and processing the ore removed from the sedimentary and primary strata rock.

The companies that account for this site occasionally vary, but the workers are more constant.

A nearby town is sometimes travelled to by those employed for important or miscellaneous supplies.

The people working here vary, although most are industrious in background.

The site parallels Nord-Pas-de-Calais Mining Basin, Northern France.
