Mélanie Chasselon: Nocturne "Abandon"

Can be called 'overly rational' but also 'spontaneous'. Does not always decide to adhere to evident usual reserved judgment. This divergence from caution typically occurs if lacking choice or sense for matters. Although blunt, a degree of eloquence exists. Appears responsible to an overall extent, besides organised. Despite having a harsh demeanour at times, that is not always quite a deliberate choice. Spite is viewed as pointless for the most part. Appears to know what is usually necessary for a situation, understanding not limited.

History

An individual from a considerably long ancestry, as evidenced within records and perhaps before such accounts. Although not as affluential as others of the same history might be, monetary benefit is not focus in her own perspective.

Her backdrop involves a considerable amount of familial and other knowledge, and she cannot be called ignorant of certain fields by extent.

She does not make ancestral fact outwardly evident, instead keeping to discretion. However, heritage is valued, and so are other perceived necessities.

Trivia

Named after a type of briar-rose. Which kind, she will not say.

Hears a significant amount through her work, while herself not quite a gossip. Being respected due to her ethics, a relative degree of information is relayed on occasion from others, although she is observant otherwise.

Her age is dubious, but she is physically somewhere around her 30s in most probability.

Kind, but prickly. Work is forefront and that one basis for others’ discourse. Listens when applicable, not commenting on things or spreading information by far.

Often resides in a house around the gate area of Carranfield. She typically is focused on crop work aside from related practices. Living near the gate can make crossing the distance to the fields easier.

Carranfield has many crop fields about its perimeter. One nearby area is maintained by her occupationally.

The terrain looked after and buildings nearby belong to her family, although her relatives are overall distant from that particular landscape.

Not stationary. Travels on occasion to sell her goods across a few nearby towns. She may or may not disappear on occasion for similar purposes.

When asked about leaves, her usual response is that she 'went over the bridge'. It is often unclear what this means, the idiom potentially translated from another language.

When absent from the town, her home and storefront are closed for a varying duration.

“Where are you from?” is a question that is often asked about new residents and travellers when otherwise present. She usually does not expect an answer, even if receiving one.

Those who can give a response are often told to leave as soon as possible, that still viable.

Collects stones from the fields she works in. Odd ones occasionally have holes bored through them, which she hangs up around her windows to act as a sort of makeshift decoration and windchime. She currently has about seven or eight distributed around her awning, which are sometimes stolen, but this is not given much mind.

When infrequently crossing a river, such as that which flows around and through Sien, she often stops to pick up rocks and practice her aim. This can be useful for self-defense, in her evident perspective.

She is much stronger than she appears. Could likely break a small boulder apart if it would not wound her similarly. Occasionally this strength is exhibited in plowing fields, which she appears to manage with relative ease.

Does not otherwise use this strength often while farming in preferring to not disturb anything.

Drinks on occasion, but often not enough to disorient herself.

Has a relative understanding of crops and weeds, although she only occasionally utilises what is torn up. The rest is used for compost and given out for fodder.
