History

A widespread species.

Trivia

Distribution widely varies across many terrains.

Many appear adapted to local environs, minute differences generationally occurring that correspond to temperature differences.

Females are often more inconspicuous than males, lacking the characteristic antlers that are iconic to the species.

The size difference between other rabbits and rattlebucks however oft distinguishes taxonomic fact.

Most are typically quiet unless social in direction. Then a number of sounds may occur, not only limited to coherent speech and singing.

Whether individuals are mimicking overheard discussion or emulating language is often uncertain.

Memory is evidently complex, both vocally and visually.

Individuals are highly territorial, and this may correlate to present behaviour.

The act of confusing and misleading predators or perceived threats is a current theory behind present ecological basis.

Venery practices are not barred in most localities concerning this species, albeit this can depend on perceived population count yearly.

The nocturnal behaviour most exhibit coincides with typical colouration. Dimmer fur colours are a norm, although leucistic individuals are not unheard of.
