History

A village life is usually an unassuming one and to some extent Sileny followed that generalisation. Her days were spent taking care of a household and livelihood, her husband addressing necessity where he could. He was a person who was not unkind, but often away through the demands of his work. She was not an asocial individual to that degree, often walking to the market and shops, and to discuss matters with those she knew.

Difficulties were not unfamiliar either, and it was perhaps because of that she did not overlook others’ needs often. This did not differ as a factor during one usual walk from her home to the village center. With the realisation that someone had collapsed on the nearby path, she did not think by far to extend a hand in help. Her words, and attempt, yet fell flat. Upon trying to help the other woman stand, something happened that did not result within her own interests.

The change was not abrupt. While yet painful initially, that faded somewhere between her loss of humanity and assumption of a more spiritual basis. After the perhaps few minutes that passed, her confusion included the older woman: who then appeared to be deceased. It was in the time that followed, more confusion and fear resulting, that a few decisions were made: not abruptly, but gradually.

In the time that has passed since, she has adapted to fit the changes that affected her life, and living.

She does not cause havoc typically, but is the source, and blame, for missing items occasionally. Sometimes may be seen by others, more when making her rounds toward the later hours, bounding through the fields and along the dirt paths as easily as the wind. Others make an abrupt effort at avoidance if realising her presence, not knowing whether or not she is willing to harm.

Word spreads, whether or not true in actuality.

Trivia

Her origin is mostly lost to time, records not encompassing enough to determine fact accurately.

What she has relayed relates to a village that has long since gone, in the infrequent occasions an encounter has occurred within casualty.

Does not appear to be entirely malevolent, although her decisions can result in complication or injury if perceiving that important.

A sturdy mentality is relevant. She does not often tolerate being slighted materially or socially.

A cheerful demeanour is often present when acting with hostility, which is invariable from when she is neutral. It is reason to be on guard when around her.

Can often be described as normal, or otherwise smaller in scale. How she can appear otherwise is uncertain.

Evidently capable of fitting through a keyhole.

Often stands as invisible outside her home. When around that location, the same state can at times account.

By the extent of events, in essence, she was granted the capabilities of a witch without asking for it, and that warped her.

Unable to be human any longer, there was an eventual decision to venture into the forest. She has found it opportune to reside there indefinitely, although not exclusively staying to that location. Meandering is frequent.

The time that has passed has evidently been extensive. It is unclear whether that has entirely affected her.

Wears traditional clothing and a Pavlovsky-type shawl as a belt. These are weathered due to time passing but viewed with importance.

She likes to sew and knit when viable. That is an occupying activity.

Keeps a cottage, which does not always seem to be exactly present.

Collects forage during most of the year and frequently uses a pot to make soup. Wild pea, mint, and ramson are often mixed together.

The hair covering her face is there for a reason. Her eyes glow distinctly, a factor which is hidden. This has various benefit when crossing distances.

At times attempts to be discreet in order to not scare others, aware that unease might worsen encounters. At other durations, this can be considerably reversed as a decision.

Perceives a great deal about persons who enter her home, a factor which is also relevant to those whom she is familiar with in some chance.

Awareness might be somewhat related to wanting to be ‘blind’. Defensively and mentally, this can be further beneficial on occasion.

Goat ears swivel toward sound. That is all that is typically needed through usual solitude.

Had a husband at one duration. He is likely long dead at this time. She does not mind in most probability, in assuming that he lived his life well despite her disappearance. Over time, past fact has become further distant. Others moved on, and so did she.

Essentially left behind her earlier life, lacking certainty she would be welcomed back with open arms. This might have been a mistake, but stands as something that cannot be returned to.

May relate perceptive questions or statements at times, but given her appearance and tone, she may be dismissed as ‘eerie’.

At times steals tools and other items that have not been treated well, aside from new ones. The former category is viewed with indirect pity in some chance. This might or might not have resulted in ‘oddness’ occasionally.

In folktales, items could speak if allowed that capability, including blood, if from a living or dead person.

Occurrences might extend to otherwise incomprehensible animals, who normally cannot speak in certain tongues.

At times idly asks a given individual a question. Whether or not an answer occurs, the ‘influence’ is still there.

Beyond strength and foresight, a rapid pace also has relevance. Cannot ‘fly’ as other witches may, but overall capabilities have significance. If something cannot be seen, it is difficult to retaliate.

Although she utilises related capability to get around easily, worse could be accomplished.

When her cottage is perceivably ‘empty’, it may not actually be vacant.

Typically Sileny does not take intruders well, if any actually find that location. Her home is considerably remote and would be difficult to locate.

It appears to change places occasionally, as if shifting around the borders of the forest.

If returning an offense, there is occasionally stifled laughter. 'Humour’ paired with retaliative behavior is about all that makes sense ‘humanly’.

Spirits of that basis are more ‘human’ than other sorts typically, but not quite entirely all the same.

Antagonising people into behaving adequately is fitting of relevant folklore. This is more frequent when a home may be coexisted in.

A degree of self-conflict may characterise her person. With time still passing, she has and has not forgotten herself. Memories of her basis remain, but her mind is set in the present.

Protecting what she views as important is a central element to her motivations.

Brews tonics and gin frequently. Further, on occasion creates mixtures that are not quite ‘normal’. The act or intent of making certain preparations may have an influence in that regard.

The woodland occupied borders the farmlands, and beyond it cottages and a village, which is now a town.

It goes unrealised by the people of Carrenfield, but occasional jaunts through the fields are watchful. Rather than cursing the fields, she often blesses crops for better harvest.

The forest itself is a different story.

Inherently, it is wild and not meant for most. She does not keep an awareness of it in its entirety: letting what she cannot change happen.

Outsiders are ignored and left to suffer hazards. If she is confronted in some regard by one or more persons, it is possible that she will ‘play’ with those persons until they fall through their own fault, whether dying or surviving.

Relevant behaviour becomes vicious if individuals actively seek to harm or impede her influence over the area.

The landscape itself further inconveniences or harms interlopers through its shifting borders. This can cause gradual detriment and potential death.

She does not intervene if someone may, or will perish. Relaying fact may occur, but she does not take initiative.

It is typically uncertain why she does this, aside from apparent affront. There is regardless reason to avoid her and take caution about the woodland.
