Snowy Gryphon

History

A snow-oriented taxonomy which somehow withstands extreme temperatures despite minimal thermal buffering.

The fur may be genetically different than other varieties and shorn individuals have produced wool that retains the same properties.

Traditionally one of various species which behaved as guards for camps and outposts.

Trivia

Small and light, lacking feathers.

Blends in with snowy terrain considerably, almost to the point of indiscernibility by outside parties.

May signal others with the tail inherently as a behaviour, which has been implemented into training on occasion archaically.

Friendly and social, although not without defenses or boundaries.

May vocally if not physically retaliate when threatened.

A loud hiss and defensive stance is frequent when disturbed.

Likes to preen frequently, paralleling both avian and cat species.

May attempt to play with others who are familiar.
