Vieri Crivelli

Traveller | Physician | Scholar | Little Egret | Yōkai

A stern mentality is forefront, in not overlooking trivial matters as unaccountable. Despite this, he cannot be called exactly callous, more contemplative. Everything is attemptedly taken in stride in a conscious effort to cover as many factors as possible. This may extend to an unconscious penchant to remove error. A dry sense of humor accentuates this steadfastness, but not to the extent that it supersedes rational thought. Although he can be called awkward through this prudent social basis, he is not self-effacing either in regard to mistakes, reserve and restraint too consolidated to be at all relevantly harsh.

History

His upbringing had a considerable focus on himself as an individual. Being from a relatively wealthy, but strained, family, most of his relatives were separated from him by a generational gap. Those present were not all that existed, but those who were absent made a difference in how he was viewed. Even without direct negativity, there were expectations present which had an ambient influence on self-perception: that perhaps reasoning for his decision to later leave the housing he called home for a more distant pursuit.

The danger aside, there was a sort of nobility in risking himself to the distant countryside and cities then-unknown: and a grandeur in seeing what existed beyond the walls that enclosed his home. Gradually, his path took him places he had not been prior, and for some time he kept guarded well enough that nothing happened. Fallibility is yet always something that happens without warning, as he realised with the passing months. An encounter occurred that yet kept him from a definite end; his path along the long highway that stretched between cities not quite as harsh as it could have been.

When fact was voiced, he could not quite disregard the issue that presented itself. Morality and understanding that the surroundings were not without danger caused him to pause. If they had helped him, it was not too unlikely others would be less kind: the least that could be done was to make sure they were away from the reach of brigands. For the time being, he agreed, not too certain what he getting into, but as events resulted, he gained more than he had first assumed.

Along with taking them on as an apprentice, he had company in his efforts, to some extent learning from each other while the attempt to balance the harshness of work and intermittent travel encompassed the months that followed. Although drifting apart to some extent, both taking their own directions, correspondence was often passed between cities: the distance at times causing weeks to pass, but a reply often promptly returned. When occasionally meeting again, they talked while they could, ambient matters yet taking eventual precedence. In that manner, some years passed following that first crossing.

Many things have changed and he is barely holding onto what he can.

Trivia

He originates from an older line which extends into obscurity, as can be said for most known ancestral maps.

Can fly but views it as unnecessary overall. The strain of attempting that would not get him very far in most chance, either.

His wings are waterproof but may generally sink to an extent if entering a pool of water.

Can be called willfully singular, having refused marriage attempted on the part of his family. Neither himself nor his arranged significant other wanted to adhere to the unison. This to some extent further distanced himself from his already strained family.

Views himself as a disappointment to some extent, family ties and lines being important socially, but he disregards that, attempting to accomplish something of value through other means.

How his family views him is uncertain, albeit he does not talk of related matters often.

Perhaps because of complications, he fell into work and studies: both wanting to be occupied and wanting to appear occupied. The company kept may be occasionally dubious as a result of the demands to his occupation. Capability to navigate is present, but so is concern all the same.

Melior and Vieri are close platonically. They could be considered legally related, having been allowed relevant documentation by higher authority at some duration.

A letter was sent to relevant parties by a parent of Vieri, who similarly amended relevant records. This occurred after a while of travel. Letters were long in their transit before a summation of that fact became evident.

Despite expectations existent, and how going against them would affect his life, he went off on his own, blending into the social backdrop. That would result in his disappearance.

Before vanishing for reasons uncertain, he made sure they were set up in Padua in terms of schooling. Melior does not know where he resulted, despite searching for a long while after.

He has found himself rather alienated from others, which has become more apparent with the years that have passed.

Despite having having gained more respect with his achievements in office, he finds himself in a complicated situation.

Values things beyond himself, having been brought up in that manner and further having learned relative importance. Others might be esteemed highly, from that groundwork and from having to find connections beyond a lack of familial stability.

Having things he values being threatened can be an offsetting factor, which includes other persons. He cares, and trying to consider that can be an indirect effort sometimes.

Tries to maintain his appearance for the most part, and can be considered overall composed, even if bothered by something. This reserve is not always ideal, but neither is acting rashly.

Started his studies relatively early, which accounts for mentality to some degree, aside from correspondent occupational range. Like many, took up the role of a physician to conflict with issues that gradually arose within the population.

Names are only names, meaning relative anonymity on a social and historic level. Before the advent of photography it was mostly paintings that served as indication.

Both Vieri and Melior went around somewhat anonymously in terms of records and awareness and after-the-fact there was no visual documentation of what they were like in-person.

If any paintings were made of them or others, it would have likely been considered abstract art of the time. As it is, none involving either may have survived the years passing, ambience weathering.

Likes gingersnaps considerably, although he does not have them often for a variety of reasons. Depending on them for short-term mental relief would not result well for his health.

Occasionally reads with a plate of dry biscuits and tea, a habit which he accrued further once more on his own. Romance novels, despite how they can be seen, are infrequently considered, the elements encompassed in-narrative given thought.

Likes to cook and bake but does so only when he has the time for it.

Drinks ale sometimes but limits himself when applicable. Often joins in rousel when at inns and taverns, but often only from the background. Involvement can become dangerous, depending on the crowd.

Can be called quick with his words; generally articulate.

Often carries a sword-cane and knows how to fence adequately; having taken up schooling earlier into his life, along with having read various treatises on the matter.

Occasionally strolls when the time for that exists. The purpose for this often varies.

He has a sense of humour, although it can be nondescript enough that it may be overlooked by others as a fact.

A type of yōkai, specifically 'Aosagibi' or 'Aosagi no hi'. The name for the phenomenon is synonymous with the birds that cause it.

He came from a clutch of eggs initially, which were looked after by relatives. At the time of hatching, he could have been considered objectively 'normal'. He was one individual who lived long enough to bypass normalcy.

Theoretically, most birds within relevant lore eventually gain further sentience. The probability for that is yet low. Most do not have the physical capacity or chance of survival on their own.

Raising individuals in a protected space increases lifespan: depending on further chance, it may be likely that some become 'odd' eventually, awareness of that fact coinciding.

As of typical egret and heron, his feathers fall apart into a powdery substance gradually. In dim settings, this powder yet takes on iridescent blue light until dissipating.

Unless it is toward the later hours and the sky proves to be obscured, he does not take that element further. A sort of 'heatless flame' can be breathed out by his person. The aforementioned orbs drift and provide illumination until fading.

If adding one to a lantern, it lasts quite a while longer than when exposed to the wind.

Often keeps a record of his travels regardless of basis in order to be certain of where he has gone. He still takes routes frequently, finding that necessary for his work. Danger exists, which is why specific roads are frequented when relevant.

He keeps a residence at a nondescript location but is frequently absent to account for matters.

He sometimes appears differently than he does when more forefront. A 'little egret' is frequent when travelling, but occasionally he has been known to appear 'human'.
